Consensuality’s new two-night proposal packages take care of the planning, styling and details around the big question, so couples can focus on what matters most: each other.
The South African intimacy and relationship brand has introduced three proposal packages based at Naughty by Nature, its private couples cabin near Wilderness and George.
Instead of booking accommodation, finding a photographer, organising décor and coordinating different suppliers separately, the packages bring those elements together around one planned stay.
The idea is straightforward: Consensuality handles the details surrounding the proposal while the proposing partner concentrates on the person they are asking. All three packages include a two-night stay at Naughty by Nature, proposal styling and setup, proposal-moment photography and a private briefing beforehand to help keep the plans discreet.
Couples can then choose how much they want included around the proposal itself. The entry package, The Ask, is priced at R24,000 for two nights and includes the accommodation, full cabin styling and setup, photography of the proposal and the private planning process.
The Ask Elevated, priced at R48,000 for two nights, adds elevated styling, a private chef dinner, a 90-minute couples massage and a live musician. The top-tier Full Seduction package is priced at R53,000 for two nights and includes the most elaborate styling option alongside the private chef, couples massage, proposal photography and live musician.
The services are coordinated around specific windows rather than turning the entire weekend into a hosted programme. Once the proposal and selected experiences are complete, the cabin returns to being entirely private for the couple. That distinction is central to the concept.
Many of the Garden Route’s best-known proposal locations are public beaches, viewpoints, restaurants and scenic stops. They can provide a dramatic backdrop, but they also bring other visitors, shared spaces and the need for the proposing partner to organise much of the occasion independently.
Naughty by Nature gives couples another option: a secluded property where the proposal, accommodation and surrounding experience can happen in one place. The cabin is located near Wilderness and George in the Western Cape, positioning it within an established Garden Route itinerary while allowing couples to step away from the busier public attractions for the proposal itself.
The accommodation includes a private hot tub, intimate interiors and an adults-only playroom, with the whole property reserved for the couple. There are no shared walls or other guests on site during the stay.
For travellers already planning a Garden Route getaway, the proposal packages can also be incorporated into a wider regional itinerary rather than requiring a separate destination trip. Wilderness, George, Mossel Bay and the broader Garden Route remain accessible before or after the stay.
From a tourism perspective, the packages also reflect a more experience-led approach to romantic travel. Rather than selling accommodation alone, the stay is structured around a specific milestone and the practical support required to make that milestone happen.
The proposal process begins privately. The proposing partner shares the intended timing, information about their partner and the level of involvement required from Consensuality. The cabin is then prepared before arrival, while any selected photographer, chef, massage therapist or musician is briefed around the planned timing.
Consensuality recommends allowing at least 10 days before the intended stay so that the different elements can be coordinated.
There is no fixed public proposal script. The packages provide the setting and support, while the details can be shaped around the couple and how the proposing partner wants the moment to unfold.
For people who would rather avoid proposing in front of a crowd, coordinating five different suppliers or spending the hours before the question arranging their own candles and décor, that may be the most important part of the offering. The Garden Route provides the destination. Consensuality takes care of what happens when it is time to ask.
