Cape Mental Health will bring the 32nd Cape Town International Kite Festival to Youngsfield Military Base in Ottery on 24 and 25 October 2026, combining international kite displays with family activities and mental health awareness.
Organised by Cape Mental Health, the festival will run under the 2026 theme #ColourTheSky. The event uses kite flying as a public platform to support mental health awareness and encourage conversations around emotional wellbeing, while ticket sales and donations contribute to Cape Mental Health’s services in vulnerable communities across the Western Cape.
Visitors can expect giant kite displays alongside kite-making activities, family entertainment, food vendors, interactive experiences and a children’s amusement area. The festival is designed as a broad family event, but its underlying purpose remains closely linked to Cape Mental Health’s awareness and fundraising work.
