Bundox Safari Co. introduces Live Wild Packages, a new collection of multi-day journeys combining safari, conservation, trails, retreat experiences and optional extensions across Southern Africa

Safari travel is becoming less about repeating the same game-drive format from one lodge to the next and more about combining different experiences within a single journey. Bundox Safari Co. has introduced its Live Wild Packages around that idea, creating multi-day itineraries that connect wildlife viewing with conservation, walking trails, retreat stays, birding and optional extensions beyond the core safari experience.

The current collection includes Live Wild & Conserve, Live Wild Retreat, Wild Trail & Retreat and Wild Birding Explorer. Each package has been designed around a different way of spending time in the wild, giving travellers and travel professionals a clearer starting point when matching an itinerary to personal interests.

Live Wild & Conserve places conservation alongside the safari experience, while Wild Trail & Retreat combines time on foot with a slower retreat component. Wild Birding Explorer caters to travellers with a stronger interest in specialist birding, while Live Wild Retreat brings together safari and time to slow down within the wider wilderness setting.

The collection is aimed at couples, independent travellers, repeat safari guests and visitors looking for more than a conventional lodge stay. It also gives African and international travel advisors, tour operators and safari specialists a structured product that can form part of a wider Southern African itinerary.

“The Live Wild collection reflects the way we want to develop safari travel across our business,” said a spokesperson for Bundox Safari Co. “Rather than repeating the same experience from one property to another, each part of the journey should add something different. Wildlife remains central, but conservation, time on foot, different landscapes and opportunities to slow down can all become part of the same itinerary.”

Bundox operates safari lodges and camps in the Greater Kruger and Okavango Deltanregion, but its role extends beyond accommodation. As a destination management company, Bundox also supports the planning and coordination of wider Southern African journeys, including accommodation, transfers, activities, routing and destination combinations for direct travellers and trade partners.

That DMC capability is central to how the Live Wild Packages are structured. Rather than presenting each lodge or activity as a separate booking, Bundox can connect the different components of a journey and help build the travel around them. This allows a Live Wild Package to serve as the core of a broader itinerary, with additional destinations and experiences added according to the traveller’s interests, available time and onward plans.

For the travel trade, the format provides a defined safari product while retaining the flexibility expected from a destination management partner. Travel advisors, tour operators and safari specialists can work with Bundox to integrate accommodation, transfers, wildlife experiences and selected activities into a more complete itinerary without having to coordinate every component independently.

The collection also includes Live Wild Package PLUS extensions. PLUS is not a separate safari package, but a selection of optional additions that can be incorporated into an existing Live Wild journey.

Current PLUS options include the Panorama Route, with destinations such as Blyde River Canyon and Bourke’s Luck Potholes; additional nights or day-trip options in Kruger National Park; wilderness stargazing and sleep-out experiences; and Winelands getaways that can be added to the safari portion of a South African journey.

The PLUS structure gives travellers and trade partners a practical way to broaden a safari without simply adding more nights of similar wildlife viewing. A Greater Kruger journey can move from game viewing into conservation, walking or retreat time, then continue into a different landscape or destination.

For travel sellers, the distinction between the core Live Wild Package and the optional extensions also makes the product easier to adapt to different client profiles. A first-time visitor may want to combine safari with the Panorama Route or Winelands, while a repeat safari traveller may prefer additional time in Kruger National Park, conservation participation or a sleep-out experience.

Bundox’s position as both a safari operator and DMC means the company can manage the journey beyond the boundaries of its own properties. This gives the Live Wild collection a wider role within Southern African itinerary planning, particularly for trade partners looking for one point of coordination across accommodation, experiences and ground arrangements.

The launch forms part of Bundox Safari Co.’s broader development of multi-experience safari travel, using its own lodge portfolio alongside its destination management capability to create journeys that move across different parts of the region with a clear purpose at each stage.
